Hello to all our visitors. For our first article we will publish in our magazine webmagazine: FIVE MINUTES WITH … We chose to interview the boss of Tokyo Red Recordings, our friend Sydney. We hope you will find the content of these interesting questions, so that ye may know that some curiosity in the world of the nightlife and its characters.

 

Tell us a little about yourself. Who are you beyond the music?

S: You average fun and lovable guy… Love spending time with my friends, riding Harleys and going to the beach.

What music do you listen to?

S: Anything from Rock, through to Soul, r&b jazz… What ever is made with love.

How did you get into music and how did you start your career?

S: I have always been in love with music… From as early as I can remember. I guess I started out as most djs… Private garage parties for friends and slowly working hard to get you first club gig etc…
Then you take the next step and start producing to take it all to another level.

What’s in your studio? At what daw you entrust yourself?

S: 2 Mackies HR624, Logic a couple of keyboards and plenty of VSTs.

With what do you play at your live performances?

S: Pioneer cdjs.

What is the disk that you always keep with you in your bag?

S: This is a hard question to answer…. Lets say this track here never lets me down : Manuel De La Mare & Luigi Rocca – Azul (Original Mix)

Is there an anecdote you’d like to share?

S: I guess most globe trotting djs have many to tell….um., how about the time I missed my flight back because I was too drunk to hear my alarm clock. But thats pretty common you say… but I was ment to return for a family wedding and my girlfriends birthday. So just imagine my face when I opened my eyes and realized the mess I was in.

What is your hidden dream?

S: I have many… But I would love to travel the States on my Harley with no destination. Just me and the road.

What are you boiling in your pot? What are your plans in the next future?

S: Got a release I’m still waiting the contract of from one of the industries biggest labels. Make better music,travel more,meet great people and move to LA if all goes to plan.

What do you think of family/company Life Sentence Rec?

S: The label releases some interesting music… I think the label has the right cards to do well…

Which artist would you like to collaborate with in the future?

S: I would love to do a track with a whole symphony …… This would be incredible.
