We hope you will find the content of these interesting questions, so that ye may know that some curiosity in the world of the nightlife and its characters.

Tell us a little about yourself. Who are you beyond the music?

Y: Music is really not everything for me, I love making it and playing but I really have a lot of different interests. From a work perspective I’ve been since 3 years now collaborating with some friends on a project called Purple Inc. This project involves us putting on a monthly showcase around East London’s warehouses. The aim of these events has been to showcase upcoming artists and producers as well as our residents.

However from a non-work perspective, lately I’ve really been enjoying spending my time outside, in nature and travelling a lot.

What music do you listen to?

Y: When I was younger I used to listen to a lot of different music but when I started to get more into electronic music I lost touch to this for a little bit. However I’m very glad that in the last years my interest to expand my horizons set in again and Lately I’ve been listening to a lot hip-hop instrumentals and Reggae again.

How did you get into music and how did you start your career?

Y: From when I was very young the idea to make music triggered my interest a lot. So it was always one of my biggest dreams to do something which involved music. I was very lucky that from an early age I had the opportunity to meet very interesting people that helped me a lot on my way so by the age of 16 I was playing warm-ups at Qube Club in Lugano. Here I got my first experiences and it was also around this time where me and my friends started going out to Milan to see the “big” techno artists every month which inspired me a lot.

What’s in your studio? At what daw you entrust yourself?

Y: My studio is very simple…there is not to much to say about it :P. I have one Imac on which I use Ableton with various plugins & packs. For the rest I have focused all my attention on creating the perfect acoustics and sound in the room.

With what do you play at your live performances?

Y: That really depends on the event and promoter. Im not very picky. However my ideal set up if I could choose would be 2 cdj2000’s, 2 Technics 1200 & 1 Xone DB2

What is the disk that you always keep with you in your bag?

Y: Hard to say but I think I got to go Jun’s & Yaya’s Knock Knock Series.

What is your hidden dream?

Y: My hidden dream is to pack my bags with some friends or loved ones and sail the world together.

What are you boiling in your pot? What are your plans in the next future?

Y: Musically speaking I just had and EP comeout on Act Natural Records this week as well as one for Leone Music in November. For the rest I have one VA track on Natural Beat Recordings as well as 2 remixes. However I’m trying to put more focus into the productions to really work them to its fullest potential. Then for the rest we will be launching Purple Inc. Recordings which will be a vinyl only record label showcasing our residents and guests.

Which artist would you like to collaborate with in the future?

Y: I have no in particular, there are a lot of great artists out there, however I would really like to do a collaboration with someone outside of the electronic scene.

We conclude this article by thanking Yvo Zanev for the time he dedicated to our questions. We hope he will always be part of our family and hope that you have enjoyed this initiative. Soon will come other interviews to satisfy all music lovers.
